This set represents the bleak wasteland of 'no-man's land' during the first World War.
The long black burnt trees stand like the shadows of dead soldiers above a ground littered with the torn poems of Wilfred Owen, which symbolise not only the world ripped appart by war but also of Owen's own personal battle to find his role within it, and to find his feet both as a man and as a poet.
Although not the most visually entising of sets the colour pallette captures the sombre atmosphere of the play hightened by clever use of lighting.
