PERSONAL PROFILE
I have a great passion for working in theatre. I take my role very seriously and dedicate my full attention and time until its completion. I have a keen eye for detail which ensures my work is of a high standard. I cope well under pressure and have an ability to adjust to big changes at short notice. I am able to share the Director's/Designers vision and realize it even within constraints such as time, budget and resources. I am particularly self motivated and an eager learner enjoying every challenge that each show brings. I have experience of working alone, in a team and leading a team. I am an honest, reliable and trustworthy Individual who expects such qualities in her colleges.

I have completed three contracts with this well known touring children's production company. Two as a Scenic artist and one as a prop maker.

To gain experience of the technical aspects of the industry, I undertook the role of Hall Assistant at the Queens Hall my duties included:
  • rigging and operating lights
  • setting up the stage and auditorium for performances
  • assisting the artists back stage
  • show calls
  • general maintenance
June 2006 : December 2006: The Byre Theatre, St Andrews
Since graduating in July 2006 I have completed two contracts with the Byre Theatre where I was working as the Scenic Artist. The shows include:

August 2006: The Scottish National Theatre
I worked as a Scenic artist for the Scottish National Theatre on the long awaited Tutti Fruitti, as featured on TV.
EDUCATION
2002-2006: Queen Margaret University : BA(hons) Stage Management and Theatre Productions
After my four years at Queen Margaret University, where I specialized in set design and scenic art. I graduated top of my class by gaining a 2:1 BA (hons) in Stage Management and Theatre Productions . During my time at Queen Margaret I gained active experience working at the following companies:

  • Boiler house ( Assistant Scenic Artist )
  • Zele ( Props and Sound Operator )
  • Stillmotion ( Assistant Scenic Artist )
I also designed for three in-house shows

By joining the Master students Theatre company in my fourth year, I was given the chance to set design for the Traverse theatre Edinburgh and The Arches theatre Glasgow. It was a very enjoyable and educational experience. It was a devised piece of theatre titled;
  • A quarrel in a far away country

INTERESTS AND ACHIEVEMENTS
Beyond theatre I enjoy reading and writing poetry, too varying levels of success. I have a growing interest in Scottish history and I am a regular visitor of all the museums Edinburgh provides. I also wish to pursue my new found interest in photography.
